How the Dates of the Raiwind Ijtema 2026 Are Set

The Raiwind Markaz holds the first phase of the Raiwind Ijtema on the first Thursday of November, and holds the second phase on the Thursday of the week after. The first Thursday of November 2026 falls on 5 November 2026. That places the first phase of the Raiwind Ijtema 2026 on 5 to 8 November 2026, and the second phase of the Raiwind Ijtema 2026 on 12 to 15 November 2026.

Workers travelling from outside Pakistan should confirm these dates with the Raiwind Markaz, or with the markaz of their own country, before booking travel. The Raiwind Markaz announces the final schedule closer to the time, and the list of which districts of Pakistan attend which phase is announced separately.

Where the Raiwind Ijtema 2026 Is Held

The Raiwind Ijtema is held at the Raiwind Markaz, the national centre of Tablighi Jamaat in Pakistan. The Raiwind Markaz stands in the town of Raiwind, about 45 kilometres south west of Lahore in Punjab province, Pakistan.

The Raiwind Ijtema is one of the largest gatherings of Muslims anywhere in the world. Only the Bishwa Ijtema at Tongi in Bangladesh and the Hajj in Makkah bring together larger numbers.

Why the Raiwind Ijtema Is Held in Two Phases

The Raiwind Ijtema was a single gathering until 2011. The number of people attending the Raiwind Ijtema grew beyond what the Raiwind grounds and the roads around Raiwind could carry at one time. From 2011 onwards the Raiwind Markaz has therefore divided the Raiwind Ijtema into two phases.

Each phase of the Raiwind Ijtema receives a different group of districts of Pakistan. Dividing the Raiwind Ijtema in this way spreads the crowd, the traffic, and the arrangements for food, water and security across two weekends instead of one.

The Closing Dua of the Raiwind Ijtema 2026

Each phase of the Raiwind Ijtema 2026 ends with a long closing dua on the Sunday morning. The closing dua of the first phase falls on Sunday 8 November 2026. The closing dua of the second phase falls on Sunday 15 November 2026.

The closing dua is the point at which the largest crowd of each phase gathers at Raiwind, and Pakistani television channels usually broadcast the closing dua of the Raiwind Ijtema live.

The Raiwind Ijtema 2026 and the Tongi Ijtema 2027

The Raiwind Ijtema in Pakistan and the Tongi Ijtema in Bangladesh are the two largest annual gatherings of Tablighi Jamaat. The Raiwind Ijtema 2026 is held in November 2026, and the Tongi Ijtema 2027 follows in January 2027, with the first phase of the Tongi Ijtema 2027 from 8 to 10 January 2027 and the second phase from 15 to 17 January 2027.
