On 20th February 2025, Maulana Saad Kandhlawi visited Darul Uloom Deoband today including the Darul Ifta. He was accompanied by his 3 sons (Maulana Yusuf Bin Saad, Maulana Saeed and Maulana Ilyas), and Mufti Muhammad Furqan Maharashtri.
There, he met Maulana Syed Arshad Madani and Maulana Syed Salman Mansoorpuri. Due to Mufti Abul Qasim Nomani’s health, he was unable to meet him
Maulana Saad followers claims that Deoband Fatwa is no longer valid
The followers of Maulana Saad were quick to claim that since Darul Uloom Deoband allowed him to visit Deoband, this means the Deoband is no longer against Maulana Saad and the Deoband Fatwas are no longer valid.
Maulana Saad’s followers also claim the Maulana Saad’s visit to the Darul Ifta was to make Rujoo.

Hazrat, I wanted to ask something. A few days ago, Hazrat Maulana (Saad) Sahib (May his blessings continue) visited Darul Uloom Deoband. He also went to Darul Ifta and met with the scholars. Social media is spreading news that Darul Uloom’s previous stance and its ideologies have been completely abandoned.
Mufti Abul Qasim Nomani:
This is false. He did not say anything regarding ideologies. He only went for a meeting. Neither did he meet with me, nor did he speak with me in any capacity. He went solely for a personal visit. He met with Maulana Arshad Sahib, went to Darul Ifta, and sat with Mufti Mustafa Mahmood Sahib for a short while. However, there was no discussion regarding his ideologies or thoughts, nor did he retract from any of his views.
Darul Uloom’s stance remains firm and unchanged, completely intact. In fact, his (Maulana Saad’s) recent statements are even worse than before. They are challenging the Ulema, saying that people should abandon fatwas and instead follow their hearts. These are the kinds of statements they are making. He has not made Ruju from anything.
