Maulana Tariq Jameel is a famous Scholar who has been part of Tablighi Jamaat since his student days. He used to be very active in going out in Jamaat, following strictly the Tarteeb (Methodology) of Tabligh such as doing regular Gasht and Jamaat.
Maulana Tariq Jameel was also very close to Haji Abdul Wahab Sahab, the most senior elder of Tablighi Jamaat Worldwide and Amir of Tablighi Jamaat in Pakistan. Haji Abdul Wahab Sahab passed away in November 2018.

Just to understand how famous he is, as of 2025, his Youtube Channel has 8.6 million subscribers, far surpassing any Islamic Scholars such as Mufti Menk who has around 5.8 million subscribers, Mufti Tariq Masood who has 4.8 million subscribers or Zakir Naik who has 4.2 million subscribers. By these standards, he is the most famous Islamic scholar by number of followers.

“Ibn Ka’b bin Malik Al-Ansari narrated from his father, that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: ‘Two wolves free among sheep are no more destructive to them than a man’s desire for wealth and honor is to his religion.’”

Maulana Tariq Jameel supports and associates himself with Tablighi Jamaat
Maulana Tariq Jameel supports, promotes and associates himself with Tablighi Jamaat. He attends big Ijtemas. This is despite him not being directly involved in Tablighi Jamaat activities. He is no doubt one of the biggest promoters of Tablighi Jamaat Worldwide.
Despite his fame, Maulana Tariq Jameel still maintains a humble attitude and down to earth. This is no doubt an effect of his years of sacrifice going out in Jamaat, enduring hardships during Gasht, etc.

Maulana Tariq Jameel and Deoband
Maulana Tariq Jameel is part of the Deobandi School of Thought, which is the Hanafi Madhab administered by the independant instituition “Darul Uloom Deoband” of India.
Darul Uloom Deoband has not issued any direct Fatwas against his statements. (As of 2025) When asked about their stance on Maulana Tariq Jameel, they clarified that they have not done adequate research on him.
