Agreement with Darul Uloom Deoband’s Decision Regarding Maulana Saad Sahib Kandhlawi

The purpose of establishing Majlis Ilmiya Telangana and Andhra Pradesh is to represent the Ahl-e-Sunnat wal Jamaat school of thought and to protect and propagate the Deoband ideology. Therefore, today on 20 Rabi al-Thani 1438 AH, corresponding to January 19, 2017, we, all members of Majlis Ilmiya, decide that we fully agree with and support the realistic and moderate analysis made by Darul Uloom Deoband regarding the incorrect thoughts and ideologies of Maulana Saad Sahib Kandhlawi, and their clear stance on this matter.

Moreover, considering the delicacy and seriousness of the situation, we strongly condemn the inappropriate comments made by some scholars associated with Darul Uloom Deoband’s ideology against this important stance of the institution. We consider it our religious and moral duty to clarify our position.

As far as the work of Tablighi Jamaat is concerned, in accordance with the temperament and taste of our elders, we have been and will continue to be its supporters and helpers from the beginning. Some scholars from Telangana and Andhra had approached the office seeking clarification on the Majlis’s stance regarding Maulana Saad Sahib, but due to continuous travels and engagements of the members, no explanatory statement could be issued until now.

We pray to Allah Almighty to grant us all the ability to follow His will and to remain with the majority of the Ummah.
