The following is a translation of the Position of the Ulema from Jharkhand and Bihar and a supportive statement from them on the position of Darul Uloom Deoband

Respected and honorable Mufti Abul Qasim Sahib Nomani (may his blessings continue), we are the supporters of Darul Uloom Deoband
Assalamualaykum Warahmatullahi Wabarakaatuh
Praise be to Allah, we are in good health and hope that you are also in good health and well-being. The purpose of this message is that, upon the request of many righteous scholars and spiritual leaders from around the world regarding the erroneous views and thoughts of Maulana Muhammad Saad Sahib Kandhlawi, Darul Uloom Deoband has, praise be to Allah, clarified its position. They have stated that his statements contain incorrect or weak interpretations of the Quran and Hadith, and interpretation based on personal opinion. Some of his statements show disrespect to the honored status of the Prophets (peace be upon them). Many of his statements deviate from the consensus of the Ummah and the agreement of the pious predecessors (Salaf). In some jurisprudential issues, he is firmly presenting baseless opinions to the public that contradict the unanimous fatwas of reputable Dar al-Iftas. He is describing the importance of the work of Tablighi Jamaat in such a way that severely criticizes and belittles other branches of religion, necessarily rejecting and denying the old missionary methods of the predecessors. Moreover, this is causing a decrease in, or even contempt for, the greatness of the elders and predecessors. This attitude of his is contrary to the way of the previous leaders of Jamaat-e-Tabligh: Hazrat Maulana Ilyas Sahib, Hazrat Maulana Yusuf Sahib, and Hazrat Maulana Inamul Hasan Sahib. Due to lack of knowledge, Maulvi Muhammad Saad Sahib is deviating from the path of the majority of Ahl as-Sunnah wal-Jama’ah in his thoughts, views, and interpretations of the Quran and Hadith, which is undoubtedly the path of misguidance.
After Darul Uloom Deoband’s declaration of its position, on Thursday, December 6, 2016, a meeting of scholars from the Chota Nagpur zone was held under the chairmanship of Hazrat Maulana and Doctor Iqbal Nair Sahib Qasmi in Latehar, Jharkhand, at the Institute for the Propagation of Quran and Sunnah in Giridih district. Scholars and imams of mosques from most districts of the zone participated, with approximately 150 attendees. Everyone unanimously supported the position of Darul Uloom Deoband. After this, several sessions of scholars were held in various circles of Giridih district, all of which unanimously endorsed and confirmed the position of Darul Uloom Deoband.
Finally, today, on Thursday, March 12, 2017, after Maghrib prayer, an important meeting of scholars and leaders of the Jamaat from the district was held at Madina Masjid, Barwadih, Giridih. After a detailed explanation of the current worrying situation within the Jamaat, all those present unanimously announced that all scholars and leaders of the Jamaat stand with the position of Darul Uloom Deoband and strongly support it. We are all with the Shura (consultative body) in the work of the Jamaat. May Allah correct all false ideologies, and where there has been deviation from the methods and principles on which Hazrat Maulana Muhammad Ilyas (may Allah have mercy on him) and his companions started the work, may it be ended and the work be done according to the way of the elders. This is so that this Jamaat, which is proving to be an important means of spreading goodness and attachment to religion, does not become a separate sect and remains protected from falling into the deep pit of any kind of extremism, excessiveness, negligence, and fervor.
